Special Achievement Awards 200 Milburn Appearances Kevin Bray Kev becomes the 4th player to achieve 200 Milburn appearances which have spanned 12 years. A top player who gives nothing less than 100% even when we cruise to another defeat. A worthy award. |
Player of the Season Ben Burton Topping the appearances, goals, assists and man of the match categories last season meant Ben romped this award voted by the players, receiving over half the 1st choice selections. The third time he receives this award comes 10 years after the 1st. Looks to be carrying the fight up front again this season. Without remembering the exact votes received, Dave Holiday, Gareth Hopkins and Alan Bruno also featured regularly in the voting.

Top Goalscorer Ben Burton No surprise here Ben wins this award again with a tally of 24 goals. Nothing more to be said here really but we couldn't half do with double that this year.

Goal of the Season Alan Bruno There were actually a few quality goals scored last season and some excellent strikes but the Lombard 6-1 game produced 2 rare quality 'team goals' both starting from our own corner flags (as well as James' special strike). Neil selected Bruno's goal which involved Neil, DaveHo, Bruno, DaveH and Gareth in an 8-pass move which left Bruno to pass the ball past the keeper into the corner. It features on the Lombard movie on the movies homepage 1st - Bruno v Lombard Phoenix |

Most Improved Player Chris Jessup Chris had really impressed last season in central defence and I would put him in terms of defensive qualities 2nd behind Kevin last year. For pure commitment he deserves this award but against TFC at Charlton Park he was amazing and but for a great save would've scored. Never moans too which is a rare quality in Sunday League football. Well done. Real photos of Chris receiving his trophy below.

Er??? Dave Holiday Big Dave sprang a surprise award to Dave for something to do with Bingo at Butlins. I've no idea why or what it represents or what a statue of a butler has to do with it but there you go. The lack of Club silverware makes this a main award which he may retain at Butlins next time. |
